Monroe High School Band
Monroe High School is home to over 900 High school students in Monroe, North Carolina. The MHS band program is proud to offer students a traditional band experience within the academy setting complete with concert Band,symphonic Band, Marching Band, Pep Band,Jazz Combos, Winter guard, Indoor Percussion Ensemble Jazz Band and small ensembles.that perform on a regular basis. Monroe High School MPA Music Festival
The Monroe High School Band participated in the South Central District Bandmaster’s Association Music Performance Assessment on Tuesday, March 19th at 1:00 P.M. at Hickory Ridge high School. Works included in the Music Performance Assessment included New South Whales March John Edmondson, Infinite Horizions By Robert Sheldon and Invicta by James Swearingen. The band has been working on these three prepared pieces since returning back from Winter Break and even sacrificed hours of their extra time to prepare for this event. The band received “Superior” ratings for their performance. This is the first time in over five years the MHS symphonic band has achieved this rating. Mr. Gibson is incredibly proud of their performance, preparation and conduct during the event.
